FAQ
Q: Where are we located?
A: We are located in the Professional Offices at 189 Elm Street. (Between Trader Joe’s and Stop & Shop) ).
(There is a ramp to get into the building, but you will need to go down 5 steps to get into our office. There is a lift available for clients in a wheelchair. Please notify us if you need to use the lift, so we can have someone ready to operate it.
Q: How do I pay?
A: Payment is taken up front. You may pay with a credit card, debit card, HSA card, FSA card, check, or cash.
Q: Where can I park?
A: There is plenty of parking on the street and in the municipal parking lot down the street. Metered parking is 50 cents an hour. Parking meters are in effect Monday-Saturday from 10am-6pm (unless otherwise noted.)
Q: What if I have my period?
A: Do not cancel your appointment. Many patients come in with their periods and we can defer internal treatment if you wish. It makes no difference to the practitioner. It is actually beneficial to see patients during all points of their cycle because the body (internally and externally) can be very different.
Q: What can I expect at my first visit?
A: Your therapist will review your medical history, and review your current concerns and/or symptoms. A physical examination will be performed so dressing comfortably is key! Expect to learn a lot about the body as we review your examination and provide you with a verbal assessment. We will also go over your individualized plan of care including frequency of future visits. Lastly, you will be provided with a home exercise program to get started with at home.
Q: Do I need to do an internal exam? I am worried about it.
A: The patient is always in control during each and every visit. If you are uncomfortable with any any intervention or assessment, the therapist will always respect your preferences.
Q: I have an emergency, will I still get charged a late cancel fee?
A: The cancellation fee is never a punishment for being human! Many times clients know ahead of time they will not be able to come, but wait until the last minute to cancel appointments. This is what we would like to avoid. We want to respect each of our therapist’s schedule and time as each therapist only sees one patient per visit. Canceling or rescheduling ahead of time gives the office time to fill in the spot from our waiting list. Please be respectful of your therapist’s time as much as we are respectful of yours. You can also switch to a telehealth visit. If it is the day of the visit, the system will automatically charge a late cancel fee. Please speak with the front desk if there was an emergency situation.
Q: I do not have a babysitter, can I bring my child into the office?
A: The answer is always yes. We ask that if you do not feel comfortable with them inside the room with you that they are old enough to be able to sit in the waiting area without your supervision.
Q: Will I stay with one therapist at all times?
A: We aim to have the patient stay with one therapist 85% of the time. If your therapist is completely booked already for a specific week, we will schedule you with another therapist. It is more important (especially in the first 6 weeks of rehab) to stay consistent with your plan of care to make the most progress.
Q: Can I space out my sessions over several weeks/months so I get the most out of the therapy?
A: Most gains will be made early in rehab. Coming consistently will ensure the best progress, instead of coming once in a while. We have seen that over and over again with our patients. If it is truly an issue, changing to hybrid may be better for you. This gives you the ability to continue to be guided by your therapist, even when at home.
