Pregnancy
Sometimes pregnancy becomes synonymous with pain and discomfort. The body changes so much during pregnancy, both visibly and internally. A lot of the discomfort that can be associated with pregnancy (like back pain, tailbone pain, pelvic pain, constipation, bladder control, and fatigue) can be helped by pelvic floor physical therapy.
Some pregnant patients come to us proactively because they want to have the healthiest pregnancy possible. We usually see these patients a couple times in each trimester for symptoms control and support. We save the third trimester visits for birth prep and to help prepare mama’s body for the postpartum period. We always find moms that see us prenatally are very grateful for making them prepared for delivery and beyond.
Postpartum
We help our new mothers thrive in their postpartum phase!
The most common reasons our new moms call Haven are urinary incontinence, diastasis recti or weakness in abdominal muscles, painful intercourse, or just not feeling right in their new postpartum body. Moms in this phase need the right amount of rest and healing, but also exercise and strengthening. It can be a very gray and confusing area. We encourage these new moms to stop guessing and to get professional guidance.
Many of our new mamas choose to do our 8 week hybrid program, which eliminates symptoms and also jump starts their journey to getting back to their pre-pregnancy exercise routines.
